The second German Match Poker Championship 2024 from October 18th to 20th, 2024 was a complete success!

Six teams from across Germany competed against each other in beautiful Fritzlar near Kassel to crown the second German champion in the Match Poker team competition. Planned, prepared and carried out by our dedicated organization team, played in a highly exciting and always fair competition over three days with the deserved winner High Five Holdem Düsseldorf, supported by our sponsors and partners as well as the IFMP and its Match Poker platform, without which the event would not have been possible – this was the second German Match Poker Championship.

But let’s take a closer look: The tournament was preceded by the selection of the venue. The choice fell on the Oase – Gaststätte Haus an der Eder in Fritzlar, just south of Kassel. Here we broke new ground, as there have not been any DPSB competitions in northern Hesse to date. And what can we say – hospitality at its best… The Oase team was in a great mood and also did their best to feed the teams. We’ll be back!

From the beginning, it was an exciting competition with changing leaders. While the favored team of defending champion and Match Poker World Champion Daniel Eylenfeldt dominated the first sessions on Friday, from session 5 at the latest, with Düsseldorf as the new leader, it became a two-way battle for the title – with the better end for High Five Holdem Düsseldorf. And that’s not all, the individual player ranking also remained in the team: after Steffi Fischbach in 2022, Jerome won this time. Congratulations on both titles!

The other teams were also winners, because they were ambassadors of the sport of match poker and generally three days of fair competition in this still young sport. We would like to thank all participants for this!

The event showed that match poker has emancipated itself from being a competition that was only reserved for a few teams. With the new match poker platform, it will soon be possible to play match poker in clubs and regional tournaments across Germany. Other national federations also want to benefit from the progress of this technical evolution and hold their own competitions.
